ZolliStar: I think that the Democrats are betting on the wrong horse. Mueller will do a good job of chasing down all of the allegations of Russian connections; a few will be interesting; none will rise to the level of collusion by Trump or an inner circle. They will continue to flog this story; the public will recognize that there is no "there" there.
What could be a punishing line of attack is the extent to which his family business intersects with his role as president, and his refusal to separate himself from the work of his kids and his son-in-law. There is conflict of interest written all over this, and it is easy for the public to understand.
I therefore subscribe to the "scoundrel abandonment" theory - if the economy prospers and we don't have a bad war with North Korea, all is good for the Trumpistas politically in 2018 and 2020.

Inquiring minds want to know. Bill: On which of the three options (the Dems' strategy works; scoundrel abandonment; more doing their own thinking) are putting your own money?

Personally, I'm tossing the last option. At this typing, I'd say we're 50/50 between the first two.
